We recently sat down with Vasu Avadhandula, VP Product Management at SigmaFlow, regarding SigmaFlow’s improved integration capabilities with Well data repositories.
The integration technology was developed jointly with Full Circle Data Services, located in Dallas, Texas. Full Circle has more than 40 years combined experience in the oil and gas sector, including software development, technology migration, software integration and IT services. We asked Vasu:
What do the new integration capabilities mean to both SigmaFlow customers and current users of Well data repositories?
Sigmaflow’s new integration to Well data repositories means customers will be in better position to leverage operational and resource efficiency to make the best use of time and resources.
The efficiencies are a direct result of SigmaFlow’s automated workflow procedures, which include tasks and activities tied to resources and equipment, along with critical well data stored in the data repository, which is often the company’s source of truth for operations and production data. Prior to the integration, data had to be manually entered into the SigmaFlow solution or imported through a custom integration. This new integration actually leverages the ‘source-of-truth data’ to give users the ability to make critical business decisions using timely information. The data kept in the repository is no longer static – it becomes valuable information that can trigger events and workflows with optimal efficiencies. Now, customers can quickly react to changes in the field.
For example, a lot of companies use devices in the field to update data quickly. With the new integration, data entered into the device or into the Well data repository is instantly migrated into SigmaFlow. Users have the ability to configure optimal or “normal” data parameters and define actions that occur when data falls outside of those parameters. The solution can trigger an automated procedure where work is assigned to individuals or notifications are sent out to responsible parties, enabling users to immediately start addressing the issue, rather than waiting for a meeting to initiate action – resulting in considerable time savings and the elimination of downtime.
Additionally, the solution generates reports showing what occurred, the procedure or procedures that were triggered, the time it took to complete the procedure, and the end result. These reports enable management to easily determine how well a process is working and identify areas of improvement in reacting to similar situations.
The benefit for current users of Well data repositories is the ability to leverage all the collected metadata and apply standardized processes to identify and track the performance of a Well in addition to the supporting team and resources. Essentially, the solution gives you complete visibility into the Well throughout its lifecycle, and the ability to quickly react to changes using pre-determined workflow procedures. Management can leverage the information and reports to continuously improve critical processes to minimize costs and optimize teams and capital.
In summary, SigmaFlow provides workflow and rig scheduling and leverages the Well metadata in your existing Well data repository.
Through integration, we provide your business with a complete understanding of work efficiency and the tools to improve and control how daily work is performed.
